German language Theology Department
In response to the changing education needs which it perceived in church and society, ATB diversified its educational programs in the 1980s and 1990s. The traditional two year Bible School programme was developed into a three year Bible College programme leading to the award of a BTh. This degree programme is accredited by the European Evangelical Accrediting Association (EEAA).
TSB also holds membership in the Association of Evangelical Theologians in Switzerland, the Mennonite Historical Societies of Switzerland, Germany, France, and North America, the ecumenical network Church and Peace, and the Global Discipleship Training Alliance.
In addition to its undergraduate programme, TSB also offers a one year international School of Discipleship, which provides a praxis-oriented introduction to discipleship for young adults, and a three year, part-time postgraduate programme (M.A.) in Pastoral Ministries. The postgraduate programme is currently in the process of validation by the University of South Africa.
In May 2001 the University of Wales recognised TSB’s BTh programme under Standing Order 21 as an entry point for the Wales validated postgraduate programme (M.A.) in Pastoral Ministries.
TSB offers the following programmes in German:
- A Church-Seminar extension programme (LGL) for the training of lay workers in local churches
- Seminars and Conferences for the purpose of continuing education
